Admissions Requirements

To qualify for admissions you must be a high school graduate. For more specific requirements contact an Axia College Enrollment Counselor. We also offer college credit for qualified high school courses, through Advanced Placement and CLEP testing.

Prior Learning Assessment (PLAC):
Prior Learning Assessment is a process that may save students time and money in completing a degree program. The Prior Learning Assessment process determines if learning received outside of the traditional university classroom is equivalent to academic curriculum and eligible for college credit through the evaluation of a student's prepared portfolio. Learning that is eligible for assessment review may include professional training, licenses, coursework earned at non-transferable institutions and Experiential Essays.

Transferring Credits:

Axia College of University of Phoenix accepts applicable transfer credits from other regionally or nationally accredited institutions of higher learning. We know that the difficulty involved with transferring your credits from one institution to the next is a reason some people never go back to school. That's why we take every measure to make your credit transfer as easy as possible. Whether your previous school accreditation is national or regional, whether it's institutional (this means the college as a whole is accredited) or specialized (this means that accreditation was applied to your specific program) we'll find out what is needed to get you as many credits transferred as possible.

Military Students:

Don't put off earning your degree any longer. Complete 100% of your degree via the Internet, regardless of your rigorous schedule or military deployments. At Axia College of University of Phoenix, military personnel can efficiently earn their associate's degree in as few as 20 months.

A pre-evaluation based on your military transcripts is available free of charge, usually within 24 hours. Additionally, professional certification, training and experiential essays may be evaluated through the Prior Learning Assessment Center for program credit.

Non-Native Speakers of English:

Students must be proficient in English in order to participate in classroom discussions and complete the required assignments. An applicant whose native language is not English must pass one of the English proficiency exams accepted by Axia College of University of Phoenix (see TOEFL Exceptions and Exemption).
